Thus came Colosseum into existence. If academics are the daily bread and butter of college students life, then sports fests are the Saturday night parties we all crave. At no other time will the students of an institution be seen displaying so much enthusiasm, receptiveness and innovation. SASTRA University proudly entered the tradition of holding annual Sports Fests with Colosseum in 2008. Hosting 10 games with more than 1800 participants from different geographies of the country, over four days of complete gaming and sports, Colosseum has carved a niche for itself in the world of Sports Fests. Bringing to you the most awaited Sport Event of the season.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Tournament will be conducted on a knockout / league basis
  • Games will be based on 21 points, 3 set rally system
  • 3 Matches per game [ Singles, Doubles, Reverse singles]
  • Maximum of 4 players per team
  • Players should bring their own shuttle cocks [ Yonex AS2]

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Each team can consist a maximum of 5 players [4+1]
  • Players should bring their own board and chess clock
  • Each round will be of 2 hours [one hour for each player]
  • The tournament will be conducted to FIDE rules [FIDE rules shall be in force]
  • The tournament would be a team championship played under Swiss format
  • Matches will be held separately for men and women

  • Tournament will be conducted on a knockout basis
  • Teams should consist a maximum of 14 players
  • First and second round will be played on 16 over basis and each bowler can bowl a maximum 4 overs
  • 4-piece cricket balls for the matches will be provided by the university at cost
  • Semi-finals will be played on 25 over basis and each bowler can bowl a maximum of 5 overs
  • Finals will played on 30 over basis and each bowler can bowl a maximum of 6 overs

    Registration on first-come-first-serve basis, first 12 teams will be selected for the tournament

  • Tournament will be conducted on league / knockout basis
  • Each half will be 30 minutes duration [30-5-30]
  • Each team should consist a maximum of 16 players
  • A maximum of 3 substitutes will be allowed per game
  • Proper kit should be necessary [shoes and skin pads are necessary]
  • In case of tie, the match will be decided by penalty shootout

  • Match will be conducted in ABC-XYZ format
  • Teams should consist a maximum of 4 and a minimum of 3
  • Match will be played as follows A Vs X, B Vs Y, and C Vs Z
  • Matches will be played for 11 points and 5 sets per match
  • In case neither team winning all 3 matches A Vs Y, B Vs X. 1st team to win 3 matches wins
  • The order of preferences should be given to the referee before the match will be conducted on league / knockout basis

  • GENERAL RULES AND SECURITY MEASURES

  • Only B.Tech , 5-year integrated M.Tech and Law students are eligible to participate in the tournament
  • All participants who are all born on or after 01/07/1992 are eligible for participation
  • Only participants and team managers will be allowed inside the campus
  • Indisciplinary behaviour by any member will lead to direct disqualification of the respective institutions
  • All team should report 15 minutes before the start of the match and any team coming late by more than half an hour will lose by giving their opponent a walkover
  • Only the college vehicles of the participating teams will be permitted within the campus
  • TEAM MEMBER SHOULD HAVE THE BONAFIDE ID CARD IN PROVIDED FORMAT ALONG WITH THEIR INSTITUTIONAL ID CARDS, ID CARDS SHOULD BE COMPLETE IN ALL ASPECTS INCLUDING 4 SIGNATURES WITH 4 SEALS
  • The ID card will be considered invalid if not complete
  • Decision of tournament committee on all matters relating to the tournament shall be finalm and binding
  • Any team arguing with the referee will be viewed strictly and can be disqualified
  • Male participants are not allowed in to the women's accommodation and vice-versa
  • Only two team managers are allowed [Should be a faculty with their institutional ID card]
  • The organisers will not be responsible for any loss or theft of personal belongings
  • The organisers have the right to change the time, venue and rules of the match
  • Consumption of alcohol and smoking is strictly prohibited in the campus premises
  • Caution deposit of Rs.1000/- [Refundable]

ACCOMMODATION

  • Accommodation will be provided on 11th February ,2016 from 6 P.M onwards
  • Accommodation will be provided only for participants and team managers/coaches
  • Participants with bona fides will only be provided accommodation
  • Separate accommodation will be provided for girls and boys
  • Accommodation will not be provided for colleges/universities in and around Thanjavur and Trichy districts
  • Transportation charges will not be provided
  • All teams are expected to vacate as soon as their events are over. Prize winners are expected to vacate their respective rooms before the valedictory function begins(before 4 PM on 14th February ,2016)
  • No accommodation will be provided for14th February ,2016 night-stay. Teams are requested to plan their travel accordingly
  • Participants shall not indulge in any activities that may cause damage to University properties
  • Consumption and possession of cigarettes or Alcohol inside the campus is strictly prohibited
