Thus came Colosseum into existence. If academics are the daily bread and butter of college students life, then sports fests are the Saturday night parties we all crave. At no other time will the students of an institution be seen displaying so much enthusiasm, receptiveness and innovation. SASTRA proudly entered the tradition of holding annual Sports Fests with Colosseum in 2008. Hosting 10 games with more than 1500 participants from different geographies of the country, over four days of complete gaming and sports, Colosseum has carved a niche for itself in the world of Sports Fests. Bringing to you the most awaited Sport Event of the season.

Rules :

  1. Tournament will be conducted on knock out basis.
  2. Maximum of 14 players per team
  3. 4-piece cricket balls will be provided for the matcches by the University at cost
  4. 1st and 2nd rounds will be 16 overs and each bowler can bowl maximum of 4 overs
  5. Semi finals will be 25 overs and each bowler can bowl maximum of 5 overs
  6. Finals will be 30 overs and each bowler can bowl maximum of 6 overs
  7. The number of overs change depending upon the weather conditions

Note :

  1. Registrations on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis.
  2. First 12 Teams to register will be selected for the tournament.

Rules and Security measures :


  • Last day for registrations : 25th January 2018
  • Check In : 8th Febraury 2018
  • Events Date: 9th -11th Febraury
  • Cricket and Football may begin one or two days before the fest, which will be intimated by a phone call

  • Accomodation will be provided on 8th Febraury 2018 from 6 P.M. onwards
  • Accommodation will be provided only for participants and team managers/coaches
  • Participants with bona fides will only be provided accommodation
  • Accommodation will not be provided for colleges/universities in and around Thanjavur and Trichy districts
  • Transportation charges will not be provided
  • All teams are expected to vacate as soon as their events are over. Prize winners are expected to vacate their respective rooms before the valedictory function begins(before 4 PM on 11th February ,2018)
  • Participants shall not indulge in any activities that may cause damage to University properties
  • Consumption and possession of cigarettes or Alcohol inside the campus is strictly prohibited

  • This is an invitation tournament and Entries will be based on first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Accomodation is only for outstation participants from 6:00pm on 8th Febraury 2018
  • Transportation facilities will not be provided by the University
  • Registration fee must be paid as Demand Draft in favor of SASTRA payable at Thanjavur
  • Caution deposit of Rs.1000(refundable) should be paid
